Prizes Given by the Association The John Morris Memorial Prize Each year a monetary prize was awarded to a student of the Salford College of Technology who , in the opinion of the Trustees of the Fund , has presented the best record in the O.N.C. at the college. Margaret West has kindly contributed with a copy of the John Morris Prize awarded to her father Kenneth West in 1940, together with the letter sent by the STEA informing him of his award. The letter and certificate can be viewed on the photo page. The Presidents Prize's Each year prizes were awarded to apprentices in the Salford area who, in the opinion of the Selection Committee, most diligently pursued their training and achieve a required standard of practical skill. The Engineering Design Award Two monetary prizes, together with certificates, are offered in the University of Salford for intra- curricular work done on Engineering design. The awards being made on the recommendation of assessors appointed by the association.
